EVGA Announces GeForce GTX 580 Classified Edition

Today, EVGA introduced classified version of their GeForce GTX 580 graphics cards. EVGA Classified version are known for robust performance and construction along with really high overclocking capabilities. EVGA made this card in collaboration with two of the world’s top overclockers, Vince “k|ngp|n” Lucido and Illya “TiN” Tsemenko.

The EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Classified is engineered and designed to perform for everyone, from gamers to the top overclocking enthusiasts in the world. The dual slot top cooled design means that you do not need to worry about space or motherboard layout limitations, and this card supports everything from single card up to 4-way SLI out of the box. It is 100% focused on being the single fastest and greatest overclocking card on the block.

Talking about this new monster, k|ngp|n states that, “I wanted a graphics card that overclocked to hell and back without limits, with the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Classified, we were able to reach GPU clockspeeds at over 1.6GHz.” and TiN says, “With the EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Classified, we focused on the key elements that the GPU and Memory need when overclocking. Power, stability, noise ripple reduction and extreme OC mode without limits. The design was created with overclocking in mind.”

The EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Classified has a very powerful 14+3 phase power design which can deliver over 1000 W of pure and clean power to the GPU to maximize overclocking. It has on board voltage probe points along with on board support for EVGA EVBot which enables making voltage and overclocking adjustments on fly.

It has 855 MHz core clock speed and 4212 MHz effective memory clock. It’ll be with two memory sizes, 1.5 GB and 3 GB. Both memory sizes have two more version. Air cooled version and the water cooled version with Hydro Copper block.

EVGA is also offering an Extreme Cooling Kit for GTX 580 Classified which ensures that card’s VRM gets adequate cooling when running on Liquid Nitrogen, Thermal Electric, Phase, or any other form of extreme cooling that does not cool the VRM. It can be bought from EVGA for $29.99.

EVGA GeForce GTX 580 Classified 1.5 GB (air cooled version) is priced at $549.99 while 3 GB air cooled version if for $599.99. 1.5 GB Hydro Cooper water cooled version is retailed for $679.99 and 3 GB is for $749.99.
